Billy Ray Cyrus merupakan seorang penyanyi dan penulis musik country asal Amerika Serikat. Pria dengan nama asli William Ray Cyrus ini terkenal dengan singlenya "Achy Breaky Heart" yang menjadi single pertama yang pernah Anda yang mendapat tiga status Platinum di Australia.

Cyrus yang lahir di Flatwoods, Kentucky adalah anak dari seorang politisi dan mantan pekerja di pabrik baja. Ia mulai menyanyi saat masih berusia 4 tahun. Penyanyi kidal ini tumbuh di lingkungan yang masih hijau dan dengan dikelilingi oleh musik gospel dari keluarganya.

Cyrus menikahi Cindy Smith di tahun 1986 namun pernikahan mereka hanya bertahan hingga tahun 1991. Istrinya ikut menulis lagu "Wher'm I Gonna Live?" dan "Some Gave All" yang menjadi bagian dari debut album Some Gave All.

Pada 28 Desember 1993, Cyrus menikahi Leticia "Tish" Cyrus (Finley). Dari pernikahan tersebut mereka memiliki tiga anak yakni Miley Cyrus, Braison Chance dan Noah Lindsey. Keduanya juga mengadopsi anak tiri dari hubungan Finley sebelumnya yakni Brandi dan Trace saat keduanya masih anak-anak. Cyrus memiliki seorang putra dengan Kristin Luckey yang diberi nama Christoper Cody.

26 Oktober 2010 Cyrus memutuskan untuk bercerai dengan istrinya di Tenessee. Walaupun begitu pada 18 Maret 2011 Cyrus memutuskan bahwa dirinya batal bercerai. Hal ini terulang lagi pada 13 Juni 2013 dimana Tish meminta cerai dari Billy Ray setelah 19 tahun pernikahan mereka. Namun keduanya kembali bersama kembali pada Juli 2013

KARIR        :
Setelah sempat sekolah dengan beasiswa baseball di Georgetown College, ia berhenti dan keluar dari sekolah untuk mengejar karir musiknya. Pada tahun 1980 ia bermain dalam sebuah band yang diberi nama Sly Dog sebelum akhirnya menandatangani kontrak rekaman dengan Mercury Nashville Records.

Cyrus berhasil menjadi multi-paltinum selling recording artist selama karirnya menjadi seorang musisi. Ia berhasil mencetak 8 top ten single pada chart Billboard Country Song. Albumnya yang paling sukses hingga saat ini adalah Some Gave All yang meraih 9 kali multi-platinum di Amerika dan menjadi waktu terlama bagi artis yang baru memulai debut untuk duduk di tangga Billboard 200 selama 17 minggu berturut-turut.

Karir aktingnya pertama dimulai dalam film independen Radical Jack. Pada tahun 2001 ia sempat bermain dalam film Mulholland Drive sebagai Gene yang merupakan peran kecil. Masih di tahun yang sama Cyrus kembali bermain dalam comedy drama Doc dan mendapatkan peran utama. Film tersebut kemudian mendapatkan rating tertinggi pada waktu itu.

Tidak hanya berakting untuk film, Cyrus juga mengembangkan karir dalam akting panggung untuk produksi Annie Get Your Gun di Toronto sebagai Frank BUtler. Sedangkan penampilannya untuk acara televisi meliputi The Nanny, Diagnosis Murder, Love Boat, The Next Wave dan 18 Wheels Of Justice.

Dengan semakin naiknya popularitas Cyrus, ia mulai banyak dibahas di berbagai program spesial televisi, diantaranya adalah dua dokumenter dari ABC, Billy Ray Cyrus: Dreams Come True dan Billy Ray Cyrus: A Year on the Road. Selain itu ia juga tampil dalam program eksklusif VH1 serta hadir dalam TNN spesial I Give My Heart To You dan The Life and Times of Billy Ray Cyrus.

Di akhir tahun 2005, Cyrus bersama putrinya Miley Cyrus tampil bersama dalam sebuah film produksi Disney Channel, Hannah Montana yang mulai tayang sejak 24 Maret 2006.
